About the Sons

Sons of Thunder was founded by Pastor Calvin C. Brown of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Beaver Falls, PA on December 14, 1991. In the third chapter of the Gospel according to Mark, Jesus surnamed James and his brother John, "Boanerges," which is translated " Sons of Thunder."

Sons of Thunder (The Anointed Sons of Thunder, legally) is a five - minister, male chorus which sings Christian and Gospel music. More than 90% of the repertoire is presented "a cappella" style.

The group has ministered in churches, nursing homes, high schools and colleges, prisons, half-way houses, parks, stadiums, field houses, rehabilitation centers, courthouses, country clubs, festivals, hotels, conventions, banquets, anti-crime rallies, and at Promise Keepers (Pittsburgh). "Sons" has also been featured on several television and radio shows, including both studio and remote broadcasts. Geographically, the group has traveled over an area covering Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, New York,Virginia, and North Carolina.

The group members are:


Willie Scott

Willie Scott is blessed with an anointed & extraordinary bass voice, he is also a Deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, an accomplished choir director, former church school teacher and proud father of three.


Greg Tymous

Greg Tymous, who received from God a smooth lead-tenor-baritone voice, is a Trustee at Tabernacle Baptist, an outstanding choral director, an avid sports fan and a lifetime music appreciation devotee.


Regis Bolden

Regis Bolden, who gives Glory and Honor to our Lord for a strong lead-tenor-baritone voice/instrument, is also a musician at Mt. Carmel Baptist, Pittsburgh - a very talented drummer who served with the Ozanam Strings youth orchestra and the Pittsburgh Rockets Drum and Bugle Corps.


Joe Brown

Uniquely blessed with an impressive high tenor voice is Joe Brown, formerly a USTAF athlete/coach, an entertainment correspondent for the Beaver County Times and Music Market Magazine and was an honorable mention winner in the 1979 American Song Festival (1979).


Kenny Gibson

Kenny has brought to Sons Of Thunder an annointed versatile tenor-baritone voice. He is chairman of the Deacons Board at Tabernacle Baptist Church and also Sunday school teacher for the teens. Topping it off with being a strong family man, God has truly smiled on Kenny Gibson

  Dan Henderson

Pastor Dan has taken an inactive role with Sons Of Thunder due to illness.

Understand that you may not see him ministering with "Sons", Pastor Dan

is still on the battlefield. God is not through with Dan Henderson.

Sons of Thunder has recorded four projects: "The First Copy," released in 1995 on cassette only; "Second Chance," released in 1998 on CD and cassette; "Joy: Songs of Christmas," released in 2000 on CD only; "With a Little Help" released in 2004 on CD only.
